Origin

Tie Guan Yin is a Chinese oolong tea from Anxi in Fujian province. This region is humid, lush with mountainous terrain and rich soil which is ideal to produce this outstanding tea. According to legend, Emperor Qian Long (1711 – 1799) was impressed with the tea’s “weight of iron and appearance of Guan Yin”, hence the name Tie Guan Yin, Iron Guan Yin.
